  • Researchers have found that eating frequent small meals rather than three main meals provide better nutrition to their growing babies and is better for fetal development.It also does wonders to the morning sickness if you are suffering from it. 
  • Most of the times you experience many new things happening to your body in frequency. But these are a few thins that you should be aware of and call your doctor for
                                  1. vaginal bleeding
                                  2. Severe swelling of the face or fingers.
                                  3. severe abdominal pain
                                  4. Loss of fluid from the vagina, usually a gush of fluids.
                                  5. blurring of vision
                                  6. painful urination
                                  7. a headache that wont go away or severe headache
                                  8. any injury or fall
                                  9. high fever or chills
                                 10. severe vomiting
                                 11. a big change in the baby’s movement or a lack of movement

 

  • Allergies during pregnancy get a little worse during pregnancy. There are many medications that you should be avoiding during this time and these are a few that you may take at this time.
                                   o Antihistanimics and decongestants ( like oxymetazoline)
                                   o Nasal sprays

(there are a few though who experience a relief in the symptoms of allergy)


I feel dizzy sometimes. What should I do for this?

  • Feeling dizzy sometimes is a fairly common symptom usually seen in the second trimester. It is due to hypotension i.e. Low blood pressure. There can be many causes for this low blood pressure.
    Pressure of the uterus on the aorta vena cava. This is called supine hypotension and occurs when you lie down. To prevent it, do not lie on your back.
  •  The second cause is postural hypotension which occurs in rising rapidly from a sitting, kneeling or squatting position. This problem is caused by rising up slowly.
  •  You may feel dizzy if you are anemic.
  •  High or low blood sugar may make you feel dizzy.

Most of the times you can avoid or improve the problem by eating a balanced diet, not skipping meals and not going for a long time without eating.
Carry a piece of cracker, biscuit or chocolate and eat it frequently or when you are feeling dizzy.
