I am going back to work. Will my baby be affected if I keep her in a crèche?

This is a common concern amongst all the mothers who want to work. First of all we want to tell you not to worry. It is a very common phenomenon and may in fact be good for the baby to interact with other people. There are a few tips that you might take before joining work though.

Remember that your baby reflects your feeling. Going to work with a guilt feeling on leaving the child bring about insecurity in him too. So leave him with an open, happy and fresh mind telling him the time when you will be back. you may feel that your baby does not know the time but it will amaze you to see him waiting for you at the allotted time. This is the power of the mind.
Look for a crèche that has one principle caregiver rather than rotating staff. It will create less confusion in your Child’s mind.
Choose a place where there is space, with few kids and a warm atmosphere.
Give your child quality time rather than quantity. After coming from work, be completely for sometime and give him 100% of yourself. That will be better than staying full day at home and still not being with him.
Remember that your child may throw tantrums after you come back and still cry a lot. That is to be expected and is a good sign that your child has kept back her emotions to share with you.
